Now, one NFL analyst is predicting that the Bills could actually be involved in a bold trade that would help them for the future.
The Bills could make a bold trade with the San Francisco 49ers
In an article out on Friday, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report names some bold trades that could go down this season. For the Bills, he sees them making a deal with the 49ers.
In his trade pitch, the 49ers get wideout Keon Coleman, a Josh Allen target, and the Bills get a conditional 2027 fifth-round pick.
This move helps the 49ers because they're dealing with issues at the wide receiver position.
"They brought back Deebo Samuel and signed Mike Evans, but they also lost Jauan Jennings in free agency and Ricky Pearsall to season-ending injured reserve (PCL)," Knox notes.
He adds that Brady may have to consider this trade if Coleman struggles and "create more opportunities for 2025 free-agent addition Joshua Palmer and rookie Skyler Bell."
He adds, "A trade could help create those opportunities while giving Coleman a new chance in Kyle Shanahan's offense."
Sometimes, a fit just isn't working. Last season with the Bills, Coleman notched 38 receptions for 404 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. Those aren't bad numbers, but they're also the kind of numbers Brady could give up in a trade for the right package.
