The Buffalo Bills managed a tight 28-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium to extend their regular-season winning streak over Andy Reid's team to five games.
But that doesn't mean there weren't some tight and tense moments.
For how well the Bills played, amassing 404 total yards, Allen going 23 of 26 for 273 yards, and a touchdown, while rushing for two touchdowns, James Cook and his 114 rushing yards, and Dalton Kincaid's 101-yard, one touchdown game, Patrick Mahomes still had a shot to break Buffalo hearts.
With 22 seconds left and no timeouts in the fourth quarter, the threat of Mahomes potentially delivering a dagger was alive and well. Yes, the Bills' defense managed to keep No. 15 at bay, but during that final drive, Allen was asked post-game if he took a breath while Mahomes was on the field.
"Oh, absolutely not," Allen said. "Mahomes, everybody knows his greatness and what he's meant to this sport, you never know what's going to happen when the ball's in his hands, but I'm proud of how our defense played at the end."

Bills playoff train back on track
The two-game losing streak feels a long time ago, doesn't it?
Now, with wins over the Carolina Panthers and Chiefs, the Bills, who are now 6-2, feel like they are back on track. Granted, with the New England Patriots still rolling, Buffalo is second in the AFC East, but offensively and defensively, the Bills appear to have their mojo back.
Yes, it's one game, but it is a good one, and we haven't seen the defensive line play like that, nor see Allen be in such command of the offense this season. Everything was on point, and the stats back that up.
Now, Buffalo has to stack wins if it is to catch the Patriots for the division, and with the Miami Dolphins up next, a great chance has presented itself for the Bills to consolidate their position.
But still, the threat of Mahomes still looms large, doesn't it?
