Bills' Josh Allen reveals honest feelings on potentially being Myles Garrett's record-breaking sack

Josh Allen and Myles Garrett.

Talk about an absolutely marquee matchup when the Buffalo Bills clash with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Maybe the game itself won't be that competitive. But the reigning NFL MVP against the guy who is almost a sure-thing to win this season's Defensive Player of the Year award? Yeah, that sounds like fun.

Garrett has 21.5 sacks with three games to play. The single-season NFL record is 22.5.

On Wednesday, Allen was asked in a press conference if he's thought about being the QB the record happens again.

He laughed and gave a thoughtful answer:

"I haven't thought about it. I do like highlight tapes, but I don't like being a part of other people's highlight tapes. He's an absolutely tremendous football player. He's one of the greatest of all time. Yeah, he's a force to be reckoned with, and we've gotta be ready but they can throw at us, but you have to be aware of where 95 is at at all times."

These teams have met twice since Allen and Garrett have been in the league simultaneously.

In 2019, Garrett had just a single tackle and two quarterback hits, but the Browns won.

In 2022, Garrett did get a sack of Allen as part of three tackles, but the Bills won.

The Bills have bigger concerns than a sack record, although keeping Allen upright is a good plan in general, both for his health and for Buffalo's chances of winning.

They're on the verge of the postseason, and Garrett is one of the only real obstacles that Cleveland will present. He's a big roadblock, of course, and Allen has to do his best to navigate it.
