The Buffalo Bills are reportedly set to not have defensive tackle Ed Oliver for an extended period of time.
Oliver exited the Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers early with a biceps injury and it was immediately clear he might've sustained a significant injury with how quickly he was ruled out.
Unfortunately, it appears that's the case. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Oliver is feared to have suffered a torn biceps injury and is out indefinitely.
"Bills fear that standout DT Ed Oliver tore his bicep and will be sidelined indefinitely, per sources. Oliver is undergoing an MRI to confirm the injury," Schefter reported on Monday.
The Bills were already extremely short-handed along the defensive line, which only makes this potential season-ending injury for Oliver, who is the Bills' best defender, even more devastating.
Buffalo has both T.J. Sanders and DeWayne Carter on injured reserve, and Carter is out for the season. DaQuan Jones is also banged-up with a calf issue.
With Oliver on the shelf, the Bills' only healthy interior defensive linemen on the roster are Larry Ogunjobi and rookie Deone Walker.
Safe to say, Oliver's injury has added yet another need Bills general manager Brandon Beane needs to address at the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
