Bill Belichick sets the record straight on Jordon Hudson, 'Hard Knocks' cancellation

Why did HBO cancel North Carolina's season of 'Hard Knocks?'

While some found it odd that 73-year-old Bill Belichick is publicly dating 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, it was nothing more than just an issue of age that everyone gave a side eye to...until a viral interview with CBS happened.

Belichick's eight Super Bowls (six as head coach of the New England Patriots) took a backseat when it comes to the future Pro Football Hall of Famer's accolades. The current head coach of the North Carolina football program became a New York Times best-selling author for penning 'The Art of Winning: Lessons From a Life in Football,' earlier this year.

As part of his media tour promoting his new book, Belichick sat down with CBS' Tony Dokoupil. However, the subject of his book was far from the focus of what came from the interview as Hudson was seen sitting just feet away from Belichick and Dokoupil, and according to CBS, chimed in several times and declined to allow Belichick to answer specific questions about their relationship.

Since the viral interview, rumors have swirled about certain aspects of Belichick and Hudson's relationship, including Hudson allegedly giving HBO a specific set of rules to allow them to tape their 'Hard Knocks' show, chronocling Belichick's debut season as head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

During an appearance on 'The Pivot Podcast', Belichick set the record straight on the rumors that Hudson had something to do with HBO deciding to nix their plans of having the North Carolina football team as the subject on the latest edition of 'Hard Knocks.'

“The ‘Hard Knocks’ thing, just for the record, ‘Hard Knocks’ is training camp, and we’re not training camp,” Belichick said. “That’s not what we are, the drama of training camp, and who’s going to get cut and all that. We’re a season, and they don’t want that. There’s film issues, too. But forget about the film issues. Just say you could straighten all those out. The Hard Knocks just didn’t fit for us. That’s the bottom line.”

While seemingly everyone continues to share their thoughts and opinions on Belichick and Hudson's relationship, it appears as if the pair aren't (at least publicly) going to let anything cloud their success, whether it's on the football field, book sales, or in the media.
