WWE's Andrade situation is strange, to say the least. The former NXT Champion sits in limbo at the moment. Now, another report has emerged regarding his deal, and it doesn't look good for anyone hoping for his return to SmackDown.
Andrade's latest stint with WWE wouldn't exactly be considered a success. He returned to the promotion at the 2024 Royal Rumble, entered the seemingly never-ending feud between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio, and had a decent five-month run with the Speed Title. The height of his run was a best-of-seven contest with fellow SmackDown star Carmelo Hayes. He'd have minor success as a tag team with Rey Fenix before reportedly being fired for cause.
After appearing on AEW Dynamite weeks after seemingly being fired, El Idolo was taken off television and hasn't been mentioned on AEW TV due to a year-long non-compete he's dealing with. Since then, various rumors and reports have emerged attempting to make sense of this whole situation.

A recent report from PWInsider claimed that some lucha libre circles believe WWE is using its leverage over Andrade to entice him to return. Per a Fightful Select report, though, the promotion apparently has no plans to use Andrade at the moment or in the future.
While the man himself hasn't had too many direct public responses to all of this, he did shut down a wild rumor before it could cause any lasting damage.
Andrade puts weird rumor to rest while waiting out WWE non-compete
This situation gets stranger by the day, but rumors got out of hand last week when someone claimed Andrade "maybe involved in some cartel business." The accuser apparently came to that conclusion on their own and asked if it was "crazy" to think this.
The 35-year-old third-generation star quickly shut that down. When the original poster deleted the post and their account, Andrade posted a screenshot of the situation, as well as his response.
"What?? Tranquilo amigo!! Will everone please stop making things up?!"Clearly, he didn't want to leave any doubt on this one.
Regarding the conflicting reports on WWE and Andrade, there's not too much to do but wait and see if they actually use him. With CM Punk's return a few years back, it's tough to claim that a return is impossible, but it does seem unlikely.
