The Oracle in Path of Exile 2 is one of the most flexible Ascendancies. It allows you to play a variety of builds soon after completing the Trial of Sekhemas. By choosing The Unseen Path, you’ll be able to assign hidden passive nodes that are exclusively available to the Oracle and allow you to min-max different types of builds.
Additionally, the Oracle can spec into non-Keystone passive in a medium radius using Entwined Realities, making it easy to reach nodes without spending points. This article lists some of the best Oracle builds you can play in Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4 and gives you an idea of how to get started.
Note: This isn’t a build guide.
4 best Oracle builds to play in Path of Exile 2
1) Plant Oracle build
Entangle can slow down enemies (Image via GGG)Patch 0.4 for Path of Exile 2 introduced a new type of spell variety called Plants. At the moment, there are only two: Entangle and Thrashing Vines. However, in addition to being a spell, they also deal physical damage, allowing you to spec into passive nodes for both. The best part is that the build only requires you to press two buttons.
Here’s what the skill setup looks like:
- Entangle: Accelerated Growth - Considered Casting - Branching Fissures - Magnified Area
- Thrashing Vines: Concentrated Area - Heft - Considered Casting - Supercritical
- Cast on Critical: Thunderstorm - Bone Cage - Spell Cascade - Efficiency
- Sigil of Power: Prolonged Duration - Cooldown Recovery - Magnified Area
Entangle creates fissures in the ground that slow down enemies, while Thrashing Vines creates vines in an AoE that deals a large amount of damage. By combining both, you can make enemies stay in the damage area for longer, resulting in better DPS.
Building around the two skills is also easy for the Oracle because he has easy access to Plant nodes, as well as physical nodes from the Warrior side of the passive skill tree. Sigil of Power is an innate skill in the Chiming Staff, which you can equip in your weapon swap for additional damage.
2) Lunar Werewolf Oracle Build
Turn into a lunar Werewolf with Lunar Blessing (Image via GGG)Shapeshifting is one of the most popular gameplay styles in Path of Exile patch 0.4, and for this build, we’re making use of the Werewolf alongside the Lunar Blessing buff. It grants you additional cold damage and calls down Moonbeams with your melee attack, which has a decent bit of AoE. The only downside is that the build is very mana-intensive, so you’ll need a lot of regen.
Here’s what the skill setup looks like:
- Shred: Rapid Attacks - Elemental Armament - Close Combat - Crescendo - Rage
- Lunar Assault: Ancestral Call - Elemental Armament - Magnified Area - Bhatair's Vengeance
- Cross Slash: Elemental Armament - Concentrated Area - Execute
- Lunar Blessing: Cooldown Recovery - Prolonged Duration - Elemental Armament - Efficiency
- Herald of Ice: Magnified Area - Elemental Armament - Frozen Spite
- Pounce: Freezing Mark - Mark of Siphoning - Ice Bite
The goal is to activate your Lunar Blessing and start slashing down enemies. Each hit will call down beams that deal additional damage. Pick up skill effect duration nodes to keep the buff active for longer. Additionally, using your normal attack will allow you to generate Rage, which also increases the duration.
For bosses and rare enemies, use Pounce to apply Freezing Mark and Lunar Assault to freeze them. Then you can use Shred to create ice fragments, and before they explode, use Cross Slash to pull them in a single spot for massive burst damage. It's one of the most satisfying DPS loops in Path of Exile 2, and with Execute, you can wipe enemies close to death.
3) Minion Oracle build
Skeletal Storm Mage can deal a lot of damage (Image via GGG)Minion builds in Path of Exile 2 are one of the most beginner-friendly options for League Start. In the Last of the Druids update, there are a lot of changes to the passive tree, and most of the minion nodes are now in the upper left side. This grants Oracle easy access to them, and combined with his Unsee Path, you can easily min-max your minions.
Here’s what the skill setup looks like:
- Skeletal Warrior: Meat Shield - Last Gasp - Essence Harvest - Elemental Army
- Skeletal Storm Mage: Rapid Casting - Meat Shield - Stormfire
- Spectre: Feeding Frenzy - Rapid Attacks - Muster - Multishot
- Raging Spirits: Prolonged Duration - Rapid Attacks - Armour Demolisher - Blind
- Flame Wall: Rapid Casting - Efficiency - Arcane Surge
- Elemental Weakness: Heightened Curse - Cursed Ground - Efficiency - Ritualistic Curse
- Pain Offering: Prolonged Duration - Sacrificial Offering - Efficiency - Danse Macabre
To tackle the Spirit issues in Path of Exile 2 League 0.4, you’ll want to use Idol of Ralakesh alongside the ‘Bones of Ullr’ unique boots for more reservation efficiency. Additionally, you’ll need Spirit on the amulet and body armor with at least 44% Increased Spirit affix on your Scepter.
Once you have everything set up, use Pain Offering to skewer one of your minions to provide a boost to others. For stronger enemies, use Flame Wall to summon Raging Spirits who’ll break enemy armor, allowing others to deal more damage. The Blind support will also lower their accuracy, making you more tanky.
4) Comet Oracle build
Death from above (Image via GGG)Comet is a complex yet one of the most fun builds to play in Path of Exile 2. It’s an auto-bomber build that triggers through Cast on Critical, as casting the skill yourself takes time. With proper setup and using the Forced Outcome Ascendancy passive, you can easily make it rain Comets across the entire screen.
Here’s what the skill setup looks like:
- Frost Bomb: Potent Exposure - Spell Echo - Overabundance - Short Fuse - Efficiency
- Elemental Weakness: Doedre's Undoing - Lifetap - Impending Doom - Spell Cascade - Efficiency
- Cast on Critical: Comet - Rising Tempest - Spell Cascade - Energy Retention - Atalui's Bloodletting
- Life Remnants: Remnant Potency - Harmonic Remnants - Cannibalism
- Sigil of Power: Magnified Area - Prolonged Duration - Rapid Casting
- Mana Remnants: Harmonic Remnants - Remnant Potency
- Archmage: Lightning Mastery
Using Frost Bomb and Elemental Weakness, you’ll charge Cast on Critical, which will call down a Comet upon enemies. The trigger frequency depends on how quickly you can collect energy for CoC. While Energy Retention helps, you’ll need to be able to deal with regular Critical Hits to make the build work.
Luckily, there’s an abundance of Critical nodes within the Oracle and Sorcress passive tree. The only issue you’ll face is survivability, as the build is what you'd call a glass cannon. Using ‘Eldritch Battery’ grants you more mana but removes all your shields, making you susceptible to getting one-shot.
