Playing as a healer in Where Winds Meet is an entirely different experience compared to damage dealers or tanks. You mostly stay out of harm's way and can apply healing on demand. However, the game takes every role seriously, and if you’re playing as the team medic, there will be some trade-offs. The first one will be the DPS, which is something you need to sacrifice across both solo and co-op gameplay.
While in combat, you also need to ensure that others stay alive while playing co-op. If you’re up for the task, this guide will show you everything you need to get started as a healer in Where Winds Meet.
Best weapon and Martial Art setup for a Healer build in Where Winds Meet
Your water clone can heal the entire team in seconds (Image via NetEase Games)For a healer build, we’ll use the Panacea Fan and Soulshade Umbrella. Both Martial Arts excel in constant healing and occasional damage buffs. The Panacea Fan provides a burst of healing and can revive downed teammates. At the same time, the Soulshade Umbrella acts as the side support for providing damage buff to the team alongside some basic heals.
Another thing to note is that healers can also use Crit to provide better healing. That's why we recommend using armor and weapons with a higher Critical Rate and Damage.
Panacea Fan
Panacea Fan will be the main healing Martial Art (Image via NetEase Games)Panacea Fan is the best healing Martial Art in Where Winds Meet. It provides a burst of healing and can revive downed teammates from a distance. Additionally, countering enemies with the Fan will freeze them momentarily, breaking their momentum, and allowing you to reposition or swap to a different weapon.
Here are all the abilities you get with:
- Fourfoul Inquiry: Perform a four-hit combo to deal damage to enemies. It’s the only damage-dealing ability for Panacea Fan.
- Emerald Dewtouch: Provide a small amount of healing to a single target while generating Dewdrops, which can improve healing provided by other abilities.
- Cloudburst Healing/ Endless Cloud: Summon a dancing clone that heals every ally within the AoE for the next 7 seconds. Using the skill again while you have Dew will provide additional heals and activate the Echoing Glow skill of the Soulshade Umbrella.
- Light Dust After Morning Rain/Resurrection: Consume 50 Dew to apply a buff to yourself and the teammate with the lowest HP to gain healing over time. Using the skill while an ally is downed will let you revive them and restore their health based on the amount of Dew consumed.
Soulshade Umbrella
Soulshade Umbrella will provide persistent buffs (Image via NetEase Games)The Soulshade Umbrella has much longer cooldowns between ability uses, but it grants a damage buff and constant healing to everyone while in combat. It also generates Dew over time, which you can use to enhance Panacea Fan's healing skills.
Here are all the abilities you get with Soulshade Umbrella:
- Light Attack: Shoot a flurry of light attacks on enemies to deal damage from a distance.
- Pale Petal: Click the action button to send the Umbrella forward and deal heavy damage. Hitting an exhausted target with it will increase the debuff duration.
- Floating Grace: Swing the Umbrella in an AoE to grant a 15% damage increase for 8 seconds. Additionally, the skill also heals a small amount of HP.
- Echoes of a Thousand Plants: Using this skill will create a healing link between you and your Umbrella that will provide constant healing. While in co-op, it will also attach to the teammate with the lowest HP.
Since you’ll lack damage-dealing abilities, defeating stronger enemies or bosses will take a lot longer. If you’re playing solo, we recommend going hybrid with one damage and one healing Martial Art; otherwise, the fights will drag on a lot longer. Here are a few combinations to try:
- Infernal Twinblades and Panacea Fan
- Thundercry Blade and Panacea Fan
- Nameless Sword and Soulshade Umbrella
Best Inner Way setup for a Healer build in Where Winds Meet
Royal Remedy Inner Way (Image via NetEase Games)Healing from skills alone won’t be sufficient to keep an entire team alive; that’s why you’ll need to use Inner Ways. Here are the best-in-slot passives while using Panacea Fan and Soulshade Umbrella in Where Winds Meet. Most of the Inner Way are non-conditional and will activate each time you use the related ability.
- Royal Remedy: While equipped, it will improve the effectiveness of Cloudburst Healing by 10%. Maxing out the Breakthrough grants you a free revive every 2 minutes.
- Restoring Bloom: Critical Healing will apply stacks of Nurturing that increase all healing received by 2% for 3 seconds. You can have a maximum of 3 stacks, and constantly dealing crits will allow you to keep them up permanently.
- Mending Loom: Casting Echoing Grow restores an additional 10% HP for every 100 Dew consumed. While the effect still won’t be as good as Cloudburst Healing, more recovery will always be helpful during combat.
- Morale Chant: While equipped, hitting enemies has an 80% chance to grant a stack of Yi River buff that increases damage by 1% for eight seconds. This effect can stack up to five times.
Royal Remedy Breakthrough (Image via NetEase Games)Note that after unlocking the desired Inner Way in Where Winds Meet, you can perform Breakthrough and further improve its effect, like reducing cooldown or making the effects stronger. The image above showcases the final chain for Royal Remedy, which can keep you almost invincible.
