A major AEW star couldn't pick up a win after returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion after more than two months. The Beast Mortos, one of the most beloved stars, was last seen on TV 62 days ago during the Fright Night Collision on October 29. He teamed up with Dralistico and Sammy Guevara to take on Komander, Roderick Strong, and Mark Briscoe. In the meantime, he wrestled on CMLL and ROH.
The Beast Mortos was already popular among fans due to his incredible wrestling skills. He became even more famous after he started dating Mercedes Mone a few months ago. The masked star returned tonight on the New Year's Smash edition of Dynamite. He took on the ROH World Champion Bandido. The latter is set to get an AEW World Championship shot against MJF at Maximum Carnage two weeks later.
On tonight's Dynamite, The Beast Mortos had the upper hand over Bandido for most of the match. However, the clever ROH World Champion turned things quickly and won the contest with a huge 21 Plex.
Mercedes Mone reveals why she started dating AEW star Beast Mortos
In June, fans went into a frenzy as they learned about the TBS Champion dating the 38-year-old star.
While speaking with TV Insider, Mercedes Mone stated that The Beast Mortos understood her and what she needed for her career.
"First of all, that mask he has is really, really hot. Two, he is a lawyer so I can sue you at any time I want. Three, it's awesome to have someone that understands what you do. Wrestling is extremely, extremely hard, and nobody gets it but wrestlers. Just to have someone who loves it and understands it as much as I do, it's the best feeling to have a partner like that," she said.It remains to be seen what is next for The Beast Mortos, as he hasn't won an AEW match in a long time.
