Beloved makeup artist Jasen Kaplan’s cause of death has reportedly been ruled as a suicide.
Authorities listed Kaplan’s “blunt impact injuries of torso and extremities” as the cause of his death, per TMZ.
Sources also told the outlet that the injuries were “consistent with a fall from height.”
The New York City medical examiner’s office did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Sources previously told Page Six Kaplan died in a New York City hospital just hours before the ball dropped in Times Square on Dec. 31. He was 46 years old.
Quickly, Hollywood began to mourn the devastating loss of the makeup artist who was known to work closely Bethenny Frankel, Tinsley Mortimer, Lydia Hearst and Kelly Osbourne.

“He was a great artist, and a sweet guy,” a longtime friend told us of Kaplan, “When people started working with him, they often stayed with him for years.”
“He really was important to a lot of people,” said one, “some of his clients had been with him more than 20 years. They’re going to take it very hard.”
Kaplan earned his claim to fame as an artist when he worked with Brittny and Lisa Gastineau on their 2005 show “Gastineau Girls.”
Along with Osbourne and Frankel, Kaplan was known as a go-to makeup artist for stars including Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter and Cyndi Lauper.
Kaplan also starred as a contestant on “Finding Prince Charming,” a gay, “Bachelor”-style dating show produced by Lance Bass for Logo in 2016.
Kaplan marks the second loss in connection with the “Finding Prince Charming” franchise. Another contestant, Chad Spodick, died last month, per People.
