Beloved AEW star sends a special message to Carmelo Hayes following his historic title win on WWE SmackDown

Rising WWE star Carmelo Hayes finally had his first big title win on the main roster. His historic victory invited a lot of messages, including one from a beloved AEW star.

The aforementioned star in question is Kevin Knight. Hayes had one of the most remarkable runs in WWE NXT, leading to his call-up to SmackDown as part of the first round pick of the WWE Draft 2024. He became a weekly part of the television programming and was featured in storylines with stars like The Miz, but did not win any major championships.

However, the wait finally came to an end for 'Him' as Melo defeated Ilja Dragunov on the December 26 edition of SmackDown to win the WWE United States Championship. He then took to Instagram to post a photo with the title belt, accompanied by a powerful, inspiring caption.

Many fans and wrestling superstars dropped their wishes for Hayes in the comments. This also included AEW star Kevin Knight, who congratulated the former NXT star on the accomplishment.

WWE star has vowed to ruin everything for Carmelo Hayes

While Carmelo Hayes' title win was a monumental sight, a certain SmackDown star was not happy about it. As Melo gave his first interview as the new US champion, Johnny Gargano attacked him from behind and left him with a warning for the new titleholder.

A few weeks ago, Melo teamed up with Ilja Dragunov to defeat Johnny Gargano and his DIY member, Tommaso Ciampa, in a tag team match on SmackDown. So it remains to be seen what will happen next following Gargano's actions.
