The Chicago Bears need a top pass rusher this offseason. While the secondary is a big issue to address, especially at safety, adding a pass rusher is a must.
While the Bears might have some good options at No. 25 in the 2026 NFL Draft, they could also turn to the free agent market for Trey Hendrickson or Jaelan Phillip. And don't count out the trade market, either.
ESPN gave the Bears some good news on the clear top trade target in a $116 million, 69.5 sack pass rusher from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Bears were named as a suitor for Maxx Crosby, whose trade odds are over 50% entering the offseason.
Bears get good trade news on Maxx Crosby amid 60% prediction
ESPN noted that Crosby's "Predicted chance of getting traded" is at 60%, while the "Potential team fits" include the Bears alongside the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders.
The Raiders superstar pass rusher is currently in the middle of a huge $116 million contract, which ESPN notes is "four more years at about $29 million per year, with $30 million fully guaranteed for 2026."
That's a lot of money to invest in one player, especially with the Bears' cap space not being in the best of shape. But the Bears can still make something work for the seven-year veteran who has 69.5 sacks in his career, including 10 last season.

Using DJ Moore in a Crosby trade would make a lot of sense, as the Raiders, set to take Fernando Mendoza first overall, could use a top receiver for their rookie quarterback.
But if the Bears try to make a trade work, they're listed as one of three potential landing spots for a player who is above a 50% chance of being traded.
While it's not the highest odds of being traded this offseason that ESPN identified, the fact that these odds are better than a coin flip is some good news for the Bears.
This doesn't guarantee a trade will happen, but it is a sign that the trade rumors with Crosby being available aren't that far-fetched. And the Bears might be the best fit for the star pass rusher this offseason.
