The Chicago Bears are coming up on a critical game against the Atlanta Falcons. The Bears are 3-2 on the season, and if they want to get to the top of the NFC North, they have to keep winning because it's a competitive division. Right now, they're at the bottom, but it's early.
Having quarterback Caleb Williams back would certainly help. With Williams back at practice, things seem to be trending that way, even if it's not official yet. If his return does become official by Sunday, you can expect this team to get its "explosiveness and playmaking" back, an NFL reporter says.
Caleb Williams' potential return could give the Bears' offense the explosiveness and playmaking it has been missing
In ESPN's Week 6 preview ahead of the full weekend of games, reporter Courtney Cronin says that Williams is trending toward a return and that it could really make a difference for this team.
"QB Caleb Williams' potential return from a hamstring injury would come with an injection of explosiveness and playmaking the Bears' offense has been lacking since Week 3," Cronin notes in the piece.
She adds that the Bears could benefit from his "deep ball (12 passing touchdowns of 20-plus air yards, the most in the NFL since the start of 2025) and his play under duress."
Atlanta's Michael Penix Jr. is playing good football lately, so that's a concern for the Bears. But, if Williams is back, it'll make this matchup much more favorable for the Bears than if he's still sidelined. We'll find out soon enough.
