Bayern Munich are looking to revamp their roster in the upcoming summer transfer window. While they won the Bundesliga, they need a well-rounded team to put up a great challenge in European competitions.
Manager Vincent Kompany is keen to add crucial reinforcements in all departments ahead of the new season.
So, among many players targeted by the Bundesliga champions, reports via BILD suggest that Bayern Munich are monitoring Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.
The Bavarians are desperately looking to improve their attack, and with the contract renewal talks stalled with Leroy Sane, the Bundesliga giants are already on the lookout for a replacement.
It was Bild's Christian Falk who revealed that Bayern are chasing the Japan international during the Bayern Insider Podcast. Mitoma is a player who can be a real asset for the club with his versatility and technical ability as a winger.
He can play on both flanks and also as an attacking midfielder. Reports suggest that he is seen as a replacement for Sane, who may leave the club after his new agents fail to reach an agreement regarding the contract extension.

Bayern have reportedly sent scouts to monitor the 28-year-old. Falk suggests that Brighton may ask for a transfer fee in the region of €40-45 million for the dynamic winger.
What will Mitoma bring to Kompany's Bayern?
If the deal goes through, it will be a steal for the German champions. Mitoma is extremely dynamic, good on the ball and has decent pace and flair to fly past defenders with ease.

He has featured 27 times for the Japan national team since making his international debut in 2021. The 28-year-old has also been a crucial player for Brighton in the last few years.
Mitoma has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 35 Premier League games this season. He has been one of the star players for the Seagulls in attack along with the likes of Joao Pedro, Danny Welbeck and others.
As per Squawka, five of his 10 goals this season have been decisive match-winning goals. He has also created 35 chances and has been dominant in air, winning 27 aerial duels.
As per reports, nothing has been finalized for Bayern Munich, but the Brighton winger will now enter their long shortlist of wingers whom they will monitor for this summer.
