How to watch Great Oak vs. JSerra in CIF-SS high school softball playoffs

The CIF-Southern Section softball playoffs are reaching their climax, and this Division 2 semifinal features two teams that are no strangers to long playoff runs.

Great Oak ran away with the CIF-SS D2 title two years ago, and last year JSerra went on an underdog run to make the Division 1 semifinals, where it fell narrowly to eventual champion Pacifica (Garden Grove). The team JSerra beat to advance to the semifinals? None other than Great Oak, which fell 2-0 thanks to a 13-strikeout complete game shutout by then-freshman pitcher Abby Ford. Now Great Oak (20-10-1) has a chance to both get revenge against the Lions and return to the D2 finals with one more win.

A JSerra (18-13) win would set up an all-Orange County title game, with Santa Margarita or Los Alamitos looming in the finals. In fact, a JSerra vs. Santa Margarita meeting would constitute an all-Trinity League title game between the two southern Orange County traditional rivals.

To get here, JSerra defeated Gahr 5-0, Sonora 5-3, and Palos Verdes 7-1. Great Oak's playoff wins came 10-8 against Torrance, 7-1 against Downey, and 8-3 over California (Whittier).
