This will be the fourth prominent edition of the exhibition event. The most noteworthy was the second edition, which took place in 1973. Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs in a match watched by millions all over the world.

Battle of the Sexes 2025: Line-up

Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios will contest the Battle of the Sexes 2025. The Belarusian is coming off of a successful season on the WTA Tour. She defended her US Open crown to claim her fourth Major title, and won a total of four titles from nine finals this year.

Sabalenka also finished the season ranked No. 1 for the second year in a row. She has established herself as one of the leading players of her generation with her accomplishments over the past few years.

Kyrgios, on the other hand, contested a handful of matches before going on a hiatus due to his injury woes. He embarked on a comeback at the start of the year after being sidelined for the better part of the last two years due to multiple surgeries.

Kyrgios has been on the road for the past few weeks, competing in various exhibition events. Prior to his injury setbacks, he finished as the runner-up at Wimbledon 2022 and won the doubles title at the Australian Open 2022.

The rules for Sabalenka and Kyrgios' upcoming showdown will differ slightly from their usual matches. Both players will have to rely only on their first serves, and they won't get a second serve. This will force both of them to rely on accuracy and placement.

The court size on Sabalenka's end will be nine percent smaller. This is done to reflect the natural difference in speed between men and women. The match will be played in a best-of-three sets format, with a 10-point tie-break to decide the outcome, if needed.
