AEW is preparing to host Worlds End 2025. The pay-per-view is scheduled to take place on December 27, 2025, at the Now Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Ten matches have been announced so far, and fans are expecting the show to be flawless.
Here is the match card for Worlds End:
- Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland vs. "Hangman" Adam Page vs. MJF - Four-way match for the World Championship
- Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale) vs. Mercedes Moné and Athena - Women's World Tag Team Championship match
- FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (c) (with Stokely) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn) (with Ace Austin) - World Tag Team Championship Chicago street fight
- Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd
- Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kazuchika Okada - Continental Classic Semifinal
- Kyle Fletcher vs. Jon Moxley - Continental Classic Semifinal
- Blue League Winner vs. Gold League Winner - Continental Championship match
- Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter - Women's World Championship match
- Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir) vs. The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Roderick Strong) and "Timeless" Toni Storm - Mixed Nuts Mayhem
- Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) vs. Hyan and Maya World - Tag team match
It appears that fans are anticipating the Fatal Four-Way World Title Match from this lineup the most. This bout on paper looks promising. However, there are various reasons why this could be disastrous.
Here are 3 reasons why a Fatal Four-Way match for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End is a bad idea.
#3. Injustice for former AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page
"Hangman" Adam Page won the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley at AEW All In: Texas. He had a dominant reign; however, he was unexpectedly dethroned by Samoa Joe at Full Gear. The Anxious Millennial Cowboy has the opportunity to become a three-time world champion at Worlds End.
Hangman should have received a one-on-one match with the Samoan Submission machine. The latter won the title from him with the help of illegal tactics; hence, Tony Khan should have given Hangman a singles rematch. The 34-year-old is being treated unjustly, and he certainly deserves better.
#2. Swerve Strickland's inclusion in the match makes no sense
Swerve Strickland is one of AEW's biggest names. Tony Khan has booked him strongly so far, and there is a strong possibility that he will become a two-time AEW World Champion at Worlds End. The only problem is that his inclusion in this showdown is pointless.
The New Flavor only had to win one match to qualify for the title match. This does not make sense. Tony Khan should have made him wrestle more before throwing him into such an important showdown. A three-way match between Joe, Hangman, and MJF would have been equally good.
#1. MJF's cash in in a was not needed fatal four-way match was unnecessary
Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been a heel throughout his career. He is entering Worlds End as a villain. Hence, he didn't have to cash in his Casino Gauntlet world title contract. This is a babyface move, and it does not align with his gimmick.
Hopefully, the Salt of the Earth will turn face during this showdown. Only then will this cash-in make sense. The 29-year-old is as good a face as he is a heel. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
