George Springer and the rest of the Toronto Blue Jays were up by 3-2 heading to Rogers Center for Game 6. It was a close game, but in the end, the Blue Jays failed to execute the tying run despite runners in scoring positions. Then, in Game 7, they gave up a tying home run in the ninth inning to Miguel Rojas.
As such, there were several moments where the Blue Jays didn't play their best baseball as they failed to end their 32-year drought of winning the World Series. The last time the club won the Fall Classic was in 1993, when they successfully defended their championship.
On Monday, one day after the Blue Jays lost Game 7, Springer's wife, Charlise, wrote a warm message, addressing her husband and the Blue Jays' family to express pride and gratitude.

George Springer optimistic for Blue Jays despite losing World Series
George Springer has been to the World Series four times, and in three of those occasions, he has lost them. It's quite tough to get so near the confetti yet not able to close the situation.
However, despite the heartbreaking loss, Springer kept his spirits high and said the club has a bright future.
“Yeah for sure. I’m excited (about what’s next),” Springer said Saturday night. “I think we did so much good this year as a team. I think we kind of pushed through a lot of expectations and just did what we believe that what we could do as a team. So, I mean, I look forward to getting back to work, whenever that is.”Springer won the World Series in 2017. That series was controversial in itself as it was later found that the Astros players might have cheated their way to lift the title. Springer was part of that roster and because of this reason he was getting constantly booed during the World Series games in LA.
