Barcelona have made an initial approach for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic to join them in the summer, as per reports. The Spanish giants are seeking for a replacement for veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract at the Spotify Camp Nou is close to reaching its end.
According to Marca, Hansi Flick's side are prepared to take Vlahovic as a replacement for Lewandowski, as the 37-year-old is set to be out of a contract in June 2026. Barcelona want to sign Vlahovic for free, as the Serbia international is also going to reach the end of his contract with Juventus in June.
Dusan Vlahovic is the highest paid player in Serie A but has failed to justify his significant wages due to incessant injury problems and dips in form. The 25-year-old is currently sidelined with an adductor problem that will keep him out of action until the new year. He will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a suitor in January unless he signs a new deal with Juventus.
Barcelona have Ferran Torres, who has been in fine form this season, as their leading choice to replace Lewandowski in their squad. They wish to sign Vlahovic to provide competition for the Spain international, as the former Fiorentina man has proven his quality in flashes for Juventus.
Vlahovic has scored eight goals in 20 appearances for Juventus this season, as many as Lewandowski has managed across 18 appearances for Barcelona. Ferran Torres, on the other hand, has found the net 13 times in 22 outings across all competitions for La Blaugrana.
Barcelona star eyeing mid-season switch to Girona: Reports
Barcelona captain Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is considering a move to Catalan outfit Girona in the January transfer window, as per reports. The experienced goalkeeper is looking to move for regular minutes after finding himself as a limited participant at the Nou Camp this season.
Diario Sport reports that the Germany international is weighing up a switch across Catalunya to join Girona for the second half of the season. The 33-year-old is keen to rack up the required minutes to get back to his best ahead of the FIFA World Cup in June.
Ter Stegen has found himself behind Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order in Hansi Flick's side this season, making just one appearance. The experienced shot-stopper will be a quality addition to Girona amid Paulo Gazzaniga's struggles between the sticks this season.
