The Houston Astros moved Jose Altuve to left field this year after trading away Kyle Tucker. Altuve has struggled defensively, which seems to be affecting his play at the plate.
Altuve is hitting just .244 through 42 games. He is a nine-time All-Star, former MVP Award winner and seven-time Silver Slugger. However, right now he is not looking the part. Bredna Rodgers and Mauricio Dubón have shared second base, but have been struggling worse than Altuve at the plate. As a result, AthlonSports' Jake Elman proposed this trade that would send Miguel Andujar from the Athletics to the Astros.
"If the Astros do pursue a corner outfielder, Athletics left fielder Miguel Andujar makes perfect sense—so long as the A’s don’t mind trading in the division," wrote Elman. "Andujar owns a .314 average, three homers, 19 RBI, and a .779 OPS for the A’s, who have lost seven of 10 and could sell at the deadline.
"Andujar will become a free agent after the year, and he’s capable of playing right field and the corner infield spots. He’s also displayed an impressive eye, striking out only 15 times in 121 plate appearances."
Andujar was once a promising young player for the New York Yankees. He hit 27 home runs in 2018 and was the runner-up for American League Rookie of the Year. Since then, he has not played in more than 80 games in a season. However, he has seemed to find some consistency with the A's.

Over the last two seasons, he has hit .293 in 108 games. He would be a cheap addition for the Astros as they look to get back on track. They are 23-21, and perhaps moving Altuve back to second base would get him back to hitting like he usually does.
