Artemi Panarin's preferred trade destination revealed in latest Rangers rumors

There's one team that could land Artemi Panarin in a trade and make it feel quite a bit unfair: the Florida Panthers.

The back-to-back Stanley Cup champs are involved in the rumors for the New York Rangers star, and he'd be quite the pickup as they try to three-peat.

Panarin wants to go to Florida, according to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, who says it's Panarin's top choice. He's just not sure how a deal there could actually get done.

The 34-year old Panarin was previously said to have nine different suitors, according to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta.

Those nine teams were split into what Pagnotta called the three frontrunners -- Kings, Capitals, Hurricanes -- and six other interested squads -- Sharks, Ducks, Stars, Mammoth, Red Wings and Panthers.

Panarin has played 52 games this season for the Rangers at age 34 and has 19 goals and 38 assists for 57 points.

In his career, he has 927 points in 804 games. That includes 321 goals and 606 assists.

Panarin has never won a Stanley Cup, and he'd surely enjoy the chance to chase that trophy. A team like Florida would give him that shot, so it makes sense he'd enjoy going there.

It could come down to whether the Panthers can put up a package and line up the finances in a way that can complete what would be a blockbuster deal for the two-time defending champions.
