Arsenal are looking to recreate the conditions of their signing midfielder Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid as they target another Los Blancos ace, reports say. The Gunners are set to strengthen in the coming weeks and months, and gave pencilled down their targets to be signed.

According to CaughtOffside (via Football Fancast), Arsenal are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler, and are mappjng out their strategy. The Premier League leaders want the youngster to join them on an initial loan deal which will be made permanent in the future, as they did with Odegaard years ago.

Mikel Arteta's side signed Martin Odegaard in January 2021 after the Norway international failed to play regularly for Los Blancos. He joined on an initial six-month loan deal before he was signed permanently for an initial £30 million at the end of the 2020-21 season.

Arda Guler is in a much better place than Odegaard was for Real Madrid in 2021, but the 20-year-old has struggled to dazzle at the Bernabeu. The former Fenerbahce man has been a regular in Xabi Alonso's side, but has struggled to perform consistently.

Guler began life under Alonso in fine form in a new midfield role but has seen his form peter out over the past few months. He has registered three goals and seven assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Los Blancos this season. Of this tally, only three assists have come in 16 appearances since the start of October, indicating a loss of form.

Arsenal have done successful loan business with Real Madrid over Odegaard and Dani Ceballos in the past and could make a move for Guler. He idolizes Gunners hero Mesut Ozil and could opt to follow a similar trajectory in his career, too.

Real Madrid, Arsenal keeping tabs on highly-rated midfielder: Reports

Arsenal and Real Madrid are among the sides that are monitoring Club Brugge youngster Aleksandar Stankovic, as per reports. The young midfielder is attracting a great deal of attention from all over Europe after his standout displays for the Belgian outfit.

According to sources from Spain and Italy (via Football Italia), Los Blancos have newly registered their interest in the 20-year-old. They join the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United in being on the lookout for the talented young midfielder.

Aleksandar Stankovic joined Club Brugge on a permanent deal from Inter Milan in the summer, but the Nerazzurri have a buyback clause for the Serbian midfielder. They have the upper hand in the race to sign him, and could ensure that he does not join any of the aforementioned sides.
