Liverpool boss Arne Slot has admitted there is “a chance” Darwin Nunez will leave Anfield this summer, as the club edges closer to agreeing a deal with Saudi side Al-Hilal.
The Uruguayan striker, who joined for £64 million three years ago, could be on his way after scoring 40 goals in 143 appearances for the Reds.
Nunez’s possible departure comes as Liverpool continue to reshape their attack. Hugo Ekitike has already arrived, while Newcastle forward Alexander Isak is reportedly a top target.
Offloading Nunez would help fund a move for the Swedish striker, who could cost a British record fee.
Reports suggest Al-Hilal have tabled a £46 million offer for Nunez, with the deal expected to be completed in the coming days.
If confirmed, he will join a growing list of stars heading to the Saudi Pro League — and might even line up against Cristiano Ronaldo next season.

What Arne Slot said about Darwin Nunez's transfer situation?
When asked about Nunez’s future, Slot kept his cards close to his chest: “At this moment in time, Darwin might indeed leave, but things are not signed yet, so you need to wait maybe a few days before that is completely done. But there is indeed a chance he is going to leave.”
The Dutchman avoided discussing possible replacements directly, adding: “You never talk about players that are not yours. I can talk to you about Hugo, who we signed recently and has done really well until now. We are very happy with the squad we have.”
With Luis Díaz leaving for Bayern Munich earlier this summer and the tragic passing of Diogo Jota, Liverpool’s attacking depth will take another hit if Nunez departs.
That could push the club to act quickly in the market, especially with the Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace just around the corner.
If Nunez’s chapter at Anfield is indeed closing, Liverpool fans will remember a player who was unpredictable, explosive, and never afraid to shoot — sometimes from anywhere.
Now, the wait begins to see if the next number nine will be a headline signing or a surprise twist.
