Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders could 'start early this year' for Browns per NFL insider

Shedeur Sanders has a real shot at snagging the Browns' starting QB role over fellow rookie competitor Dillon Gabriel. And it could be much sooner than initially anticipated.

LeSean McCoy's inside sources claim that the Browns are thoroughly impressed with Sanders's performance in the rookie minicamp, which could potentially earn him a few early starts in 2025.

"[He's not going to start] game one. He's a rookie, he's gonna take some time. But he's gonna start, and he's gonna start early this year," McCoy said

"I don't think the Browns will be competitive this year. The other thing is, I've got my sources, and they told me, and I know some of you guys don't think minicamp is all that important, but they told me he looks like the best player out of the whole camp. I was always taught that I don't care if it's minicamp, real camp, fake camp, high camp, Boy Scout camp – be the best at everything you do. That's how I was raised."

More than that, the rather crowded Browns' QB room could be much less competition than expected for Sanders.

The Browns are rumored to consider veteran Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett for a trade with the Saints. Even if the trade doesn't happen, Flacco is on the wrong side of 40, and Pickett's athletic struggles have lately been evident, too.

Sanders' primary concern should be Gabriel; something that he appears to be already focusing on.

While it shouldn't be surprising, Sander becoming the Browns starter in the later games will stun the whole NFL since he was drafted in Round Five.
