Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married in Rhode Island? RI senator weighs in

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding is underway, and while they are rumored to be getting married in New York over the summer, a Rhode Island senator is sharing the assumption on the big day.

Fans put Swift and Kelce at the center of wedding rumors in Rhode Island based on the singer having a mansion in Watch Hill, RI. Now, according to TMZ, who had a chance to speak with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse about his thoughts on the potential wedding, he hasn't been made aware of it occurring in the Ocean State.

"I don't know about that," he said.

However, he would be for the superstar and NFL player saying "I do" in Rhode Island.

"I think she gave Rhode Island a pass, but I hope so. I would love to have her in Rhode Island." 

Another indication that the wedding might not happen in Rhode Island was when a wedding planner revealed that she does not have Swift on her book for the Ocean House venue she was rumored to be getting married in. 

“I am the wedding planner for June 13th at the Ocean House in Rhode Island! Sorry to let you all know, Taylor is not my bride this weekend! Boo!” Tara Guerard said, per a comment on The Wedding Chicks' social media, back in April.

While it's not certain for sure where she and Kelce will decide to get married, the latest rumor is that it will happen on July 3 in New York City, according to Page Six.  It was rumored that Michael Rubin, who is known for his star-studded July 4 party, moved the event due to Swift and Kelce's wedding. While Rubin's party will be happening on July 1, it is not due to Kelce and Swift's nuptials, according to a source per TMZ.

"Rubin's bash was never scheduled for July 4, and July 1 is the only date that was ever on the invitations, which went out to his guests on April 1 ... 8 days before the first public report claiming Taylor and Travis are getting married April 9," the outlet reports. 

Other speculations have also been coming to light, such as a potential singer making the guest list. However, just like the location of the wedding, a confirmed guest list has not been made public.
