    "My cat was returned to the shelter for being unsocial. After adoption, she’s slept next to me every night for the past 3 years"

    NotBorn Yesterday420 Some people don't understand that a cat isn't going to act like a dog.

     now she's the queen of a one bedroom apartment LOL

  • We agree here. Some people expect cats to show them affection in the way that they want to see it, in the timing that works best for them, rather than for the cats. Cats are wary of new things. They are often scared of new people. You need to give them time. You need to understand that giving them time and space is actually the best way to get them to bond with you faster. They'll stop being scared of you if you stop pressuing them.

    Junior-Corner-2774 I'm glad they returned her. They clearly didn't deserve her and she was waiting for someone like you to take her home

    kiwicat_tv OP she's my angel and she's also extremely kind and friendly. she never hits and is always guarding the door during my shower ;-;

  • The fact that all of these pictures were taken in different years but all look so similar is making us smile so hard that we cannot even explain it. The consistency. Showing the belly so often, so carefree. We have hundreds of pictures of our cats in a similar position, and even thought they all look nearly the same, they still all manage to make us smile. We wish for all cats to feel this safe and free and happy in their homes.

    Momma Furbutt She was selected by the wrong human and went back to wait for you.

    kiwicat_tv OP i am so lucky to know her and have her in my life!!

  • Sometimes, the CDS gets it a little bit wrong the first go around. A cat's instinct is telling them to select a human, but they don't have the patience to wait for the right one. Eventually, they find the right human though. It happens to all of them. It has to. We need to believe that. We need to believe that every cat out there who might not be the happiest in the world has a human waiting for them who will give them everything that they have ever needed.
