Anthony Davis Trade Rumors: Insider Reveals Crucial Factor That Could Lead Mavs Star to Team Up With Steph Curry & Co. in Blockbuster Move

Anthony Davis has been a focal point of trade speculations for the past month or so, as the Dallas Mavericks continue to languish in the Western Conference standings. Now, one insider is hinting that Davis could end up with another team that is trying to stay relevant in the West.

According to Chris B. Haynes, the Golden State Warriors just so happen to be looking to shore up their frontline. As it turns out, there happens to be a big man that Dallas could be willing to trade away.

"I came on last week and told you that the Warriors are looking for a rim-running big man who can protect the paint and [be] a lob threat," Haynes told "NBA on Prime" Taylor Rooks. "I was told they're contemplating making a case to acquire Anthony Davis."

However, Haynes also reported that there are hitches to a straight-up trade that would bring Davis to the Bay Area.

"I was told that Dallas was not that fascinated with what Golden State has on their books," he added. "If the Warriors really did want to make a play to acquire Davis, they would likely have to acquire some more assets or involve another team."

It will be recalled, of course, that Davis' arrival in Dallas came at a hefty price, as the Mavericks parted ways with their franchise player Luka Doncic to make that blockbuster deal happen in February.

Though the 10-time All-Star has not exactly boosted his stock during his stint with the Mavericks thus far, Davis remains a precious commodity that won't come cheap for any NBA team. While an AD-Steph Curry-Draymond Green combination would certainly be formidable, there won't be any shortage of hurdles for the Warriors to clear in order to build this new core.

Haynes has also reported that the Atlanta Hawks are looking to get into the Anthony Davis sweepstakes this season.

"The Atlanta Hawks remain very intrigued with the possibility of acquiring Anthony Davis via a trade. If a deal was able to materialize...it would not involve Trae Young," Haynes explained.

It would be interesting, then, to see whether the Hawks will deal an asset like Jalen Johnson or Kristaps Porzingis in a package to acquire Davis.
