Mookie Betts has struggled this postseason for the most part, but when it mattered the most, he delivered for the Los Angeles Dodgers in a do-or-die Game 6 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

In the third inning, Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman was only one out away from getting out of a jam. At that moment, John Schneider opted to walk Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman later to load up the bases for struggling Betts. The decision backfired moments later.

Betts, who was demoted down the order because of his poor results at the plate, made the circumstances count as he came up with a two-run hit through the middle infield. This gave the Dodgers their second and third run of the game as the runner reached home safely.

Fans blasted the Blue Jays' decision to walk Freeman.

"Oh snap? Are we witnessing a Toronto collapse? At least Leaf fans are used to this," one fan wrote. "Thank you @BlueJays manager Schneider for the extra run from the Ohtani IBB," one fan added. "Another Schneider error walking Ohtani for no reason," one fan said. "Walking Ohtani was a huge mistake," one fan added.

Meanwhile, some fans admired Betts for coming up with that clutch hit.

"Way to good of pitch with 1-2 count to a hitter that can’t hit anything lately," one fan commented. "Most due man on the planet finally came through," one fan mentioned.

Mookie Betts' redemption helps Dodgers force Game 7

The World Series is very much alive with the Dodgers winning Game 6 3-1. Yoshinobu Yamamoto posted a quality outing once again, throwing six innings for only one earned run. Meanwhile, the Dodgers erupted for a three-run rally in the third inning.

Before Mookie Betts' clutch hit, Will Smith doubled to left field to drive in a run and get Ohtani 90 feet away from scoring the second run. He and Smith scored on Betts' hit.

Meanwhile, the only scoring Toronto recorded was an RBI hit by George Springer, who returned after missing two straight games.

It remains to be seen if the Dodgers can win Game 7 and repeat as champions.
