Angel Reese replayed that moment over and over again.
The Atlanta Dream star knew she had the game-winning shot on her fingertips on Sunday. The Dream should have defeated the Indiana Fever at State Farm Arena, and a win would have handed Atlanta the victory in the season series between the two.
But Reese's layup attempt in the final seconds of the fourth quarter just would not go in. The two teams headed to overtime, and Indiana escaped with a 95-91 victory.

Reese told Yahoo Sports that she replayed the offensive rebound and the miss "so many times," and she even said she "didn't sleep" Sunday night after the Dream let the win slip through their grasp.
Angel Reese says she couldn’t sleep after missing the game winning layup vs. the Fever:
“It was very tough for me. I didn’t sleep… I replayed that so many times. And I’m like, why would I let that moment dictate everything else that I have going on that’s positive?”
However, Reese has shown throughout her short WNBA career that she is a mentally tough player who can bounce back from setbacks and keep on going.
She proved it again Tuesday night, when the Dream went into Las Vegas and pummeled the Aces.
Reese had 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocks as Atlanta secured a statement win on the road. The 97-82 victory in Vegas had Reese's fingerprints all over it; she became the second-fastest player in WNBA history to haul in 400 rebounds in a single season...behind herself, in 2024.
