WNBA star Angel Reese and Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion might hail from different worlds (basketball and hip-hop) but their bond is undeniable and over time, the two powerhouses have formed a tight-knit friendship that’s captured the attention of fans and the media alike.
Reese, known for her dominance on the court and her signature style, earning her the nicknames "Bayou Barbie" and now “Chi Barbie” with the Chicago Sky, has become one of the most recognizable faces in women’s basketball. Megan, known for hits like “Savage” and “Body,” is a style icon and unapologetic advocate for women’s empowerment, making the duo a natural fit.
How did Megan Thee Stallion and Angel Reece meet?
After proclaiming Megan Thee Stallion as one of the celebrities she’d most like to meet, Reese got her chance in May 2024 during Megan's "Hot Girl Summer Tour" stop in Chicago, when she was invited backstage.
A few months later, in July, Megan mentioned the basketball phenom during an interview as she described her creative process in the studio — and what helps when she’s ‘trying to figure out” what she wants to say.
“There’s a goal in the back, and sometimes I go back there, and I’ll be messing around,’ Megan said. “This is so random, but I be thinking I’m really Angel Reese … and I just play around until I figure out exactly what I want to say.”
Reese responded by referring to Megan as her "stallion sister."

Megan and Reese become "twins"
In September 2024, as Reese recovered from surgery on her left wrist, Megan sent her self-proclaimed "twin" flowers, and a note that read, “I’m always rooting for you twinnn. Wishing you a speedy recovery!”
