Kansas City Chiefs fans will be happy to hear this.
While speaking at the Annual League Meeting in Phoenix, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided a promising update on star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, though he stopped short of providing a concrete return timetable.
Mahomes is about three months removed from undergoing left knee surgery after suffering ACL and LCL tears against the Los Angeles Chargers in December. He’s aiming to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season, but it remains to be seen if he’ll hit that mark.
"He's doing great," Reid said of Mahomes. "He spends a ton of time in the building. ... He's in there for seven hours a day. It's showing, the progress. Now, to tell you a timeline? I mean, I know what he's striving for. We'll just see where it goes from there."
