Andy Cohen is keeping his Bravo family close amid tragedy.

After it was confirmed that Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby’s son Robert Cosby Jr had died at 23, the executive producer expressed his sympathy to her and husband Robert Cosby Sr.

“Devastatingly sad news out of SLC,” Andy wrote on Threads Feb. 25. “This is every parent’s worst nightmare. My heart is broken for Mary, and I am sending all my love to her and Robert Sr.”

The Salt Lake City Police Department confirmed to E! News that Robert Jr. was found dead when officers "responded to a possible overdose." The medical examiner is still investigating the cause of death. 

After the news of his death was made public, Mary and Robert Sr., spoke out, sharing that their son was  “finally at peace.”

"Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” the couple said in a statement to TMZ on Feb. 25. “Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow."

In the weeks leading up to his death. Robert Jr., had recently returned home following two months at Salt Lake County Metro Jail. At the time, he was facing 14 charges, according to documents obtained People, including felony property damage or destruction; violation of a pretrial protective order obtained by his estranged wife Alexiana Arian Smokoff, 21; and criminal trespass on a dwelling with intent to cause annoyance, injury, or fear.

Following his release, Mary shared an update on Robert Jr., writing alongside a Feb. 7 Instagram Post of him posing for the photo, "Love you all. My beautiful son.. I love him sm."

Robert Jr.’s struggles were also documented on the Bravo series, including during season five, when he candidly shared his drug use with his mother and agreed to seek treatment. Months later, Mary shared a promising update with Andy.

“Robert is doing so good,” Mary told the host during a December 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “I am so proud of him. So proud of him. He did go to rehab, he stayed for a month, he completed it. He did an excellent job. He came out a new person.”

Of sharing her family’s vulnerable moment, Mary was overcome with emotion as she expressed her desire to use the conversation not only to help her son, but other parents and children who were facing the same battle.

“It wasn’t planned, we just came together Robert and I and I said, ‘We’re going to do this, because we’re going to help somebody,’” she explained through tears. “He didn’t plan what he was going to say, and I didn’t plan what I was going to say.”
