Analyst reveals 1 Ravens wish from schedule release

1 hour ago 2

The NFL schedule will be released soon, and every team is eagerly awaiting to see how their season will begin, and one that is watching a little more intently is the Baltimore Ravens.

Having had to face some of the NFL's best in the past two seasons to open their year, the Ravens, under new head coach Jesse Minter, will be hoping for a break.

Could Baltimore get a softer schedule to begin the season?

For CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo, his one Ravens wish is that they don't take on a contender on the road to begin the year.

"Baltimore started the previous two seasons with daunting, primetime road openers," DeArdo wrote. "In both games (at Kansas City in 2024 and at Buffalo in 2025), the Ravens lost close games that contributed to slow starts in both seasons. The Ravens would like to avoid a three-peat of that scenario for 2026."

Ravens hoping for easy Week 1

For a new head coach and regime, the best way to get players and staff on board with your vision is to win. To show them that this way works.

So, the Ravens could ideally want a softer start to the season, like a home game against the Tennessee Titans.

Of course, when you have Lamar Jackson, you're a big draw card for NFL audiences, so the league could very well pit Baltimore against the likes of the Los Angeles Chargers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or the Houston Texans in Week 1.

Having played elite competition to begin the last two seasons, the Ravens will hope they catch a break in 2026.
