Philadelphia 76ers oust Daryl Morey after another early NBA Playoffs exit

The Philadelphia 76ers are cleaning house after the NBA Playoffs. Joel Embiid remains to be the only NBA MVP to not make any conference finals despite having talents like Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe around him. Now, it looks like changes to be better are starting to take effect. It all starts from the top after the organization decided Daryl Morey's fate.

76ers part ways with Morey as President of Basketball Operations

Daryl Morey will no longer be the President of Basketball Operations for the 76ers, per Tony Jones and David Aldridge of The Athletic.

Notably, Morey has been with the 76ers for the past six seasons. He saw Joel Embiid win the NBA MVP, countless second-round exits, helped James Harden join the 76ers, and endured quite a bit of drama. Moves like drafting VJ Edgecombe, trading away Jared McCain, bringing in Paul George, and developing Tyrese Maxey all had his stamp of approval. More importantly, Morey has failed to lead this franchise to a conference finals.

The 76ers did see quite a bit of growth with Morey in the organization. They finally beat the Boston Celtics and came back from being down 3-1 in the NBA Playoffs. However, none of that was clearly enough to let him stay with the franchise.

Bob Myers will now lead the search for a new President of Basketball Operations for the 76ers. In the meantime, he will also oversee the operations of the 76ers during the offseason while the hunt is ongoing.

Will this finally signal the peak of 'The Process' for 76ers fans?
