Amy Sedaris’ holiday hacks involve frozen pizza, Dunkin’, and a ‘fantastic’ cake

Amy Sedaris is going big in 2026.

Speaking from her Greenwich Village home, Sedaris spills her holiday season rituals and survival tips to Page Six Style — including the celeb-founded brand that’s so good, she actually buys it. But first, we discover that we’re both Aries.

The legendary comedienne tells me the coming year is “supposed to be a really good year for us [Aries]. You gotta brush up on your astrology,” she quips.

When it comes to holiday planning, Sedaris gets everything done early, so she “can make fun of the last-minute shoppers. Because nothing’s more entertaining than last-minute shoppers panic shopping, and watching them get bullshit gifts for people. I’m like, ‘No one wants that!‘” she laughs.

Another unexpected source of entertainment for the actress is unprepared shippers at the local post office; “They don’t have tape! It’s just stuff crammed into some weird envelope. And, I feel so bad for the people that are going to get it.”

However, the “Strangers with Candy” star learned her “really good” packing and mailing skills from the postal employees.

She thanks them with $25 Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards, which she carries multiples of in her purse for just such occasions, saying they’re “a good thing to have on hand for people when you wanna just give somebody a little something, a gesture for being there for you.”

The New York native keeps her hosting low-key, but she does have a pantry staple that she’s “obsessed with.”

Calling it her go-to gift this year, she says Mike’s Philly Fluff Pound Cake is fantastic and she “can’t even believe” how good it is.

The “At Home with Amy Sedaris” actress also sells her handmade crafts at a local corner store, Locavore, with proceeds going to charity, including the NYCACC (New York City’s animal control) and City Harvest.

The crafting buff has even authored a book on the topic, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People, and says Christmas is a good time for handmade presents. However, Sedaris advises being deliberate: “It’s hard with crafts, because it’s just crap nobody wants or needs.”

“It has to have a purpose (like a potholder), because no one in New York has counter space for a glitter macaroni project,” she deadpans.

When her crew comes over to help her with the handiworks, she makes a big pot of pasta with sauce and salad before breaking out her favorite pound cake (or sometimes, her other go-to sweet: Li-Lac dark chocolate-covered pretzels).

Pasta nights get a tipple from fellow New Yorker Sarah Jessica Parker’s Invivo, with the comedian calling the wine “excellent.”

“Yes — true story, because you would think, ‘Oh, I’m just plugging Sarah.’ Not true: her wine’s fantastic, I highly recommend it (including for gifts),” she shares.

Sedaris also recently partnered with Amy’s Kitchen for a hilarious campaign, saying they’re her go-to frozen enchiladas for when time is short, and they also make nice gifts for “someone who lives by themselves, especially guys.”

“There’s still a mom-and-pop attitude [at Amy’s], and that’s important to support small businesses, you know,” adding that the pizzas are also great, and that you can stock someone’s freezer as a housewarming present or nice gesture.

Her ultimate holiday hack? Going to holiday dinner at her brother David’s home, where “his boyfriend is doing everything,” so she doesn’t have to worry about a thing.

While the funny gal says she’s dreaming big for 2026, no longer wanting to be “Girl Scout Amy Sedaris,” her word for 2026 is “abundance,” and manifesting everything that comes along with it — which we couldn’t wish for her more.
