The soon-to-be 39-year-old Al Horford is still getting it done in his late 30s.

He's entered more of a new role with the Celtics over the past couple of seasons, and has begun to not play back-to-backs in the regular season.

There was speculation that Horford could call it a career after winning his first championship in 2024, but he decided to come back for the 24-25 NBA season.

With another season over for Horford, the same question persists on whether or not he will return.

Al Horford's 25-26 status

Horford is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

He's loved playing in Boston and has so much love for the city, so it was be sort of shocking to see him change teams at this point in his career.

Saturday afternoon, the Celtics had a press conference on the 24-25 season, with players like Horford there to answer questions for the media.

When asked about his future, Horford said "It's too soon" and that there's “still a lot for me to process.”

Despite Horford's age restricting some of his abilities on the court, he is still a very valuable asset to the Celtics or any team that he's on.

Horford took a pay cut to help the Celtics a few years ago and played a huge role in their run last postseason to the NBA Finals.

For now, we will have to wait and see what Horford chooses to do, but if this is it for Horford, what a career it was for the 2x champion at Florida and a 1x NBA champion in 2024.
