This is Aceituno, but I mainly called him Tuno, Tunito, Tunasio. He is a 10 year old blind void that I adopted 5 months ago.

Tuno is such a sweet cat, always looking to be with me and get me to pet him constantly. He cannot sleep alone, he needs to be by my side at all time, purring and making biscuits.

Tuno also likes to talk a looooooot, which is fun but sometimes it get worried if something is hurting, but according to my vet he just likes to talk.

I did a complete medical check on him, and besides a little sediment in his bladder and stage 1 (controlled) kidney failure, he is okay.

He does not have an eye, and the other one does not work, but he still manages to be sweet, lovable and a great companion.

This is just an appreciation post for my void, that spent 1 year on the streets, then 9 years in the shelter and now, he will spent the rest of his life in a warm home

We can only imagine the kind of life that this cat had before you adopted him. Years of years of living in a tiny space, surrounded by friends who were constantly getting adopted and leaving him behind. With every day that passed, the older he got, the sicker he got, the smaller the chances of him getting adopted became. Did you know that a cat who is one year old is considered “old” for adoption in shelters? And this guy was not only that old when he got to the shelter, he was also a former stray, and a black cat - which doesn't help his adoption odds.

12

If you have the opportunity to adopt a black void, even if its an oldie, go for it, you won't regret it.

Nine years in a shelter is heartbreaking, and we cannot thank the person who finally adopted him - finally gave him a chance - enough. This guy was clearly more than ready for a forever home. He was desperate for someone to love. This is part of the reason why senior cats make such amazing pets - because they know what they are getting, and they don't take it for granted. They know the value of the love and the life that you can give them. Adopting this cat is going to be the best thing that you did. We're sure you realize that by now, but if you don't yet… you will. He is going to bring so, so much joy to everyone who ever crosses his path.

Here I attached a couple of pictures of Aceituno (olive in spanish) and Mango, my two oldies
