AEW should have removed Jon Moxley from TV after controversial recent match, argues 2-time WWE champion

Former AEW Champion Jon Moxley suffered a shocking loss last month on pay-per-view. Former WWE superstar and champion Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin) has now argued that the One True King should have been kept off of television for some time to emphasize the impact of said loss

The undisputed dominance of The Death Riders suffered its first major blow this year when Samoa Joe choked out Jon Moxley to secure the faction's World Trios Titles for The Opps this past April. An even bigger setback befell The Purveyor of Violence, who then lost his AEW World Championship to Hangman Page via submission at All In : Texas. Although he managed to defeat Darby Allin in a Coffin Match at Forbidden Door, the daredevil stunned the world by beating Mox in an "I Quit" match last month at WrestleDream.

Staying consistent with his character, Moxley tried to bounce back from the loss on Dynamite right after the PPV, battling Kyle O'Reilly in a bout that shockingly ended with Mox accepting a DQ instead of tapping out to The Violent Artist. While the angle is clearly meant to explore how the popularly-dubbed "Ace" of AEW has had his confidence rattled, ex-WWE superstar Bishop Dyer believes that the former World Champ should have been kept off of television for some time in order to sell the effects of his recent losses. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dyer pitched a storyline in which Moxley left for a couple of months after WrestleDream, and The Death Riders struggled to find their footing in his absence until he returned to rally the troops.

"I would have liked to have seen Mox disappear for like a month or two after the loss to Darby," Dyer said. "Kind of like that 'I've got to find myself, how do I get back to that?' And then I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of the Death Riders kind of lost without their leader in a sense. Again, watching Troy fall, like that would have been kind of a cool thing to see, and then he comes back and kind of he picks up the pieces and re-establishes themselves as dominant again. It would be kind of fun to see them without their fearless leader because they're kind of spread out throughout the whole show anyway as it is." [H/T - Wrestling Inc]

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Moxley battled Kyle O'Reilly in a rematch that ended in a double count-out.

Jon Moxley is set for another violent match on AEW tv this month

After the conclusion of Kyle O'Reilly's rematch against Jon Moxley last Wednesday on Fright Night AEW Dynamite, the Paragon member tried to negotiate with referee Aubrey Edwards to restart the bout. However, the official got promptly knocked out by Marina Shafir, after which The Death Riders descended on O'Reilly. The heel stable beat down on KOR until Roderick Strong, the Conglomeration and Darby Allin arrived to make the save. The babyfaces then laid out the challenge to The Death Riders to face them in this year's Men's Blood and Guts match.

It remains to be seen what kind of carnage the two sides will unleash against each other in the double steel cage bout later this month.
