The foundation of AEW supposedly played a part in the inception of Bron Breakker's WWE career. The revelation was shared recently by the budding star's father, Scott Steiner, during an interview.

"The Dog" began his pro-wrestling journey late in 2020, and towards the beginning of the following year, he signed a developmental deal with the Stamford-based company. Within a few months, Breakker emerged as a key player on NXT, a brand whose top singles title he held on two occasions, besides one reign as NXT Tag Team Champions with Baron Corbin towards the end of his initial run on the show. He graduated to Friday Night Smackdown in February last year, and was drafted to WWE RAW in April. It did not take long for Bron to find success there, judging from his two Intercontinental Championship reigns.

Earlier this year, Breakker joined forces with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman to form The Vision. However, the up-and-comer, alongside his stable-mate Bronson Reed, kicked The Visionary himself out of their group last month. He is also expected to become World Champion in some time, and is clearly on an upward career trajectory. Surprisingly, during his recent appearance on the Geek'd Con panel, Bron Breakker's uncle Scott Steiner revealed that he had initially suggested that his nephew should stay away from professional wrestling. However, the inception of AEW, and the way it ended WWE's monopoly over the industry, supposedly changed his mind on the subject.

“The first advice I gave him was don’t get into wrestling. But that was before AEW started up. So it’s actually- it’s always better to have two companies. Otherwise, it’s a monopoly and it’s not good for the wrestlers." [H/T - TJR Wrestling]

Scott Steiner's prior comments on AEW

WCW and WWE legend Scott Steiner spoke with interviewer Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast earlier this March. At one point, the conversation between the two men hit on the topic of Big Poppa Pump's sons potentially pursuing professional wrestling careers like their father. Steiner argued that the industry was in excellent health, pointing to WWE's recent successes, as well as to AEW for raising the competitive bar for televised wrestling programming.

He said, “There’s not a better time to be wrestling because WWE is doing phenomenal. Then you have [All Elite Wrestling], so it’s always good to have competition. So I never really wanted them to get into wrestling, but I let them do what they want to do.” [H/T: wrestlingnews]
