AEW may have quietly spoiled 266 lb star's return at Worlds End 2025

The stage is set for AEW Worlds End 2025, and Tony Khan seems to have pulled out all the stops as fans wait with bated breath for the event to kick off this Saturday. The pay-per-view will be headlined by the AEW World Championship 4-way match featuring Samoa Joe, MJF, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland.

On the go-home Dynamite this Wednesday, the buildup to the title bout intensified when the Salt of the Earth was attacked by two of his opponents, Hangman and Strickland. Meanwhile, Joe appeared on the big screen to address the animosity between his challengers and explain how it works in his favor.

It remains to be seen what happens in the go-home Collision tonight, but one clear thing is the antagonization of MJF among the four stars. The Salt of the Earth inserted himself into the World title match at the very last minute and threw heavy jabs at his opponents. It won't be a surprise if he is explicitly targeted at Worlds End. That said, Friedman can get backup from his former ally, Wardlow. Interestingly, AEW may have already spoiled this return for fans.

Warldow namedropped as one of MJF's victims on Dynamite

On Dynamite last night, MJF returned to in-ring action in AEW for the first time since All Out 2025. The Wolf of Wrestling defeated Dustin Hollow in just 60 seconds, after which he was confronted by Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland, who then attacked him.

At one point, the cowboy had Friedman pinned to the ground, choking him with a chain, while the Mogul said a few nasty things to him, pointing out that everyone MJF has been associated with has fallen victim to his scheme. Among those names was the 266-pounder, Wardlow.

Wardlow could return at Worlds End and shockingly help MJF win the AEW World title

The last time we saw Wardlow was at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025. Incidentally, Mr. Mayhem attacked Swerve Strickland after the Mogul's loss to Kazuchika Okada in a unified title match. After the attack, Wardlow embraced Don Callis on stage. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old sustained another injury in that segment, keeping him out since.

At Worlds End, Wardlow could return and shockingly help MJF win the AEW World Title. The shock factor is that Friedman and Wardlow had a major fallout and an intense feud years ago, so any collaboration between them would be unexpected.

It could be revealed that MJF hired Wardlow as a bodyguard after the beatdown he suffered

For those who haven't followed his career, Wardlow's entry into All Elite Wrestling came in late 2019, when he debuted as an enforcer and bodyguard for MJF. Mr. Mayhem and the Salt of the Earth would go on to form a faction called "The Pinnacle."

Before they split in 2022, Wardlow helped MJF win many major bouts. Given that Wardlow had returned as a heel at Forbidden Door, it could be revealed post-World's End that MJF has resumed working with Wardlow, whom he had approached following the beatdown by Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland. Moreover, the angle could benefit Wardlow by putting him around the main event scene despite having missed so much of AEW programming in recent years.
