San Diego Padres relief pitcher Adrian Morejon and his wife, Melany, were at Madison Square Garden to watch UFC 322. Headlined by a welterweight title clash between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev, the PPV event also featured other exciting matchups between 170lb fighters.

On Saturday, Melany shared a short clip on her Instagram story from UFC 322. The clip showed the slow-motion replay of Carlos Prates' knockout win over Leon Edwards on the big screen at MSG.

"Viva Brazil," Morejon's wife captioned the post, adding a Brazilian flag.

The knockout happened at the first minute, 28-second mark of the second round. Edwards had won the first round on all three judges' scorecards with his grappling and distance striking.

However, Prates turned things around with a straight left hand that sent Edwards crashing down the canvas. A follow-up hammer fist forced referee Keith Peterson to step in and call the fight.

With the win, Prates became the first fighter to knock out Edwards in professional MMA. In his previous fight, at UFC 319, the Brazilian phenom had achieved the distinction of being the first to do the same to Geoff Neal in UFC.

Edwards has now lost two by finish after losing the welterweight title to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304. In his previous fight, "Rocky" had suffered his first submission loss, to Sean Brady.

Carlos Prates' victory has put him in contention to fight for the welterweight strap, currently held by Islam Makhachev, who won it in the UFC 322 main event. Prates, now riding on a two-fight first-round finishing streak, has a wide fan base due to his exciting fighting style.

Like his wife, Padres pitcher Adrian Morejon also appears to be a fan of Prates. He shared a similar clip on his Instagram story, tagging the Brazilian, and also added three fire emojis. Morejon also shared another IG story, which was a clip of Michael Morales' octagon interview with Joe Rogan.

Like Prates, Morales also impresses, securing a first-round knockout win over Sean Brady. He is now undefeated in the UFC and has also put himself in title contention.

With Shavkat Rakhmonov, Kamaru Usman, Ian Garry, and Belal Muhammad waiting in the wings, there is no shortage of contenders for Islam Makhachev, who has called for his next fight to be at the coveted UFC White House card.
