Adrian Morejon's wife, Jackson Merrill's girlfriend send messages to Michael King's spouse after his $75M Padres decision

San Diego Padres pitcher Michael King signed a 3-year contract extension worth $75 million on Thursday. Padres teammate Adrian Morejon’s wife and Jackson Merrill’s girlfriend celebrated King’s news and wrote warm messages to his wife, Sheila, on Instagram.

Morejon’s wife, Melany, reshared an MLB graphic post on her Instagram story.

“Ayyyy my people! The best news!! So happy,” Melany wrote, tagging Sheila.

Merrill’s girlfriend, Sam, also reshared the post on her Instagram story.

“Yuppp, friends are back,” she also tagged King and Sheila.

King’s sister Olivia also congratulated him on her Instagram story.

“Proud of uu,” Olivia wrote.

Olivia, a singer and songwriter, also supported her brother's baseball career in 2020 during his Yankees stint. Her sister wrote a walkout song called “Messin’ with the King.”

“It was a Christmas gift from my sister, actually," King told Sports Illustrated in 2020. “She's the one who wrote the song and sings the chorus in it.”

Michael King spent two years with San Diego and showed elite pitching. He debuted with the Yankees in 2019 and played for five years. Before this deal in the offseason, King rejected a one-year qualifying offer of $22 million.

Padres pitcher Michael King and his wife, Sheila, educate people about myths and truths regarding type 1 diabetes through their King of the Hill Foundation. On Nov 13, he shared an Instagram post with the caption:

“This month, we’re clearing up confusion around Type 1 Diabetes—and hoping that helps you create a plan with your healthcare team.”

King also said that a person can develop T1D at any age. They partnered with Sanofi, a pharmaceutical company that develops drugs for diabetes and cancer.

“Talk to your doctor about screening for type 1 diabetes-related autoantibodies now and take charge of your health today.”He captioned it.

Michael King and Sheila met at Boston College and started dating when he debuted with the Yankees. The couple tied the knot in December 2023 and welcomed their first child, Grace, in July.
