Aaron Judge injury timeline is far from ideal for Yankees, if Aaron Boone is being truthful

There's really no debating that the New York Yankees need Aaron Judge back in this lineup if they're going to be the team they aspire to be.

The Yankees still have a very good roster without Judge, but missing the best player in Major League Baseball definitely has an impact on any team dealing with this injury.

The Yankees don't have a timeline yet for his return, which is certainly a bit worrisome. While the Yankees might not want to put a time frame on it yet, so they don't have fans questioning things if he doesn't return by then, skipper Aaron Boone's latest comments make it seem like the doctors don't even know when Judge can return.

"Just the nature of the injury," Boone said, per Joel Sherman of the NY Post. "And hearing the doctors talk. We just haven't put a timeline on it because we don't want to do that and miss the target or make the target or, you know, anything like that. I think there's pretty strong confidence that he'll be back and fully healthy."

I hate to be the one to question the Yankees, as they certainly know more than anyone else who isn't in the room, figuring out these things, but it almost feels like a situation in which Judge is going to be out a lot longer than anybody is thinking.

The hope is that he'll return toward the back end of the season, but given the Yankees, it wouldn't be surprising to see him miss much longer than that and potentially not even play in the postseason.
