Aaron Glenn's Jets just had worst December in NFL history

The New York Jets are 3-13, but based on how the month of December has gone, it feels impossible that this team managed to win three games.

While things are vastly different, thanks to some trades and changes at quarterback, things have gone poorly this month. A loss to the New England Patriots capped off a forgettable month for Aaron Glenn and the Jets.

But, unfortunately for the Jets, this month of December might go down in NFL history. Rich Cimini of ESPN revealed that the 0-4 month of December for the Jets, with a -107 point differential, is the worst December by a team in NFL history.

Jets just had NFL's worst December in league history

"Where does this month rank in the annals of bad Decembers?" Cimini writes. "It's arguably the worst ever. The Jets dropped to 0-4, with the worst December point differential (-107) in NFL history, per ESPN Research."

Those two statistics sum up how December has gone for the Jets. They didn't win a game and lost by an average of 26.75 points. They're the first team ever in the Super Bowl era to lose four straight games by at least 23 points, per Cimini.

Brady Cook and the Jets offense scored just three touchdowns on offense in December. The Jets lost more games this month than they scored offensive touchdowns.

The four losses were a 34-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins, a 48-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and a 42-10 loss to the Patriots in Week 17.

It's been a bad month, to say the least. And to make matters worse, the Jets won't be getting the top pick in the NFL Draft, as their Week 13 win over the Atlanta Falcons, combined with their wins earlier in the year, has the Jets with just a 0.1% chance of the top pick.

Glenn's first season in New York has been a complete disaster, as the offense, defense, and even special teams have played well below expectations.

Entering the final week of the 2025 season, the Jets will try to get any positives in a matchup against the Buffalo Bills, coming off a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fortunately, that matchup won't come in December. The worst December in NFL history is behind them, as Glenn's Jets made brutal history during a time of year supposed to be full of holiday cheer. Jets fans didn't have much of anything to cheer for this month.
