Aaron Donald comeback buzz reignited following Rams’ Myles Garrett blockbuster trade

Former Los Angeles Rams superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald may not be completely done with football.

Immediately after the Rams traded for superstar defensive end Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, there was speculation that Donald would make a comeback.

That only grew when Donald's former teammate, Michael Brockers, hinted that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year is at least giving some thought to a potential return to the field.

“I would say that I do have some information that might be considered as some knowledge that others might not have,” Brockers said. “But I'm not going to tell it all … but I will say this: My guy is staying ready so he doesn’t have to get ready. I'm going to leave the audience with that so we can get more viewers on the later show this week. I’ll be discussing if some of that is real.”

“I wouldn’t play. I wouldn’t play. I wouldn’t play,” Brockers said, ensuring his co-hosts that he’s not joking around.

🚨Aaron Donald's former Rams DL teammate @MichaelBrockers HINTS to me and @lockedonbush that he's heard #99 may ACTUALLY end retirement to play with Myles Garrett:

Donald and Brockers were teammates for seven seasons (2014-2020).

Aaron Donald speculation continues following Myles Garrett trade

If Brocker's words aren't enough, maybe Donald's latest social media post is giving us a hint of a potential return.

Shortly after the trade was made for Garrett, many questioned what Donald's workout video meant when he posted it on social media. The 35-year-old caption included "#ready" with the song by artist Bixst’s titled "ain't done" was playing.

While it's typically normal for Donald to post workout videos—as he routinely did throughout his playing career and has continued to do in retirement—this particular post may carry a little more significance given the recent speculation surrounding his potential return.

A potential duo of Donald and Garrett would strike fear into opposing offenses. The addition of Garrett alone makes the Rams even better than what many suspect them to be entering the season.

If Donald decides to unretire and join the Rams, we may be looking at one of the more dominant defenses the league has ever seen.
