A.J. Brown reveals he has not talked with Jalen Hurts since Eagles-Patriots trade

The Philadelphia Eagles traded A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots this offseason, sending the All-Pro receiver away after he grew disgruntled with the team and, allegedly, Jalen Hurts.

In the aftermath of that split, there have been plenty of rumors floating around about Brown and Hurts' relationship. During joint practice with the Eagles, Brown revealed what his relationship has been like with Hurts since the trade.

According to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Brown told reporters that he hasn't actually spoken to Hurts since the trade, and only might talk to his former QB if they cross paths this week.

"AJ Brown said it's 'all love' between him and the Eagles but tried to avoid talking about the past," Zangaro shared. "Brown said he hasn't spoken to Jalen Hurts since the trade but said if they cross paths this week, he might."

The Eagles are up in New England facing the Patriots during joint practice ahead of their preseason matchup this upcoming Sunday.

While the Eagles and Patriots offenses aren't going up against one another for obvious reasons, it still wouldn't be a surprise if Hurts and Brown crossed paths.

If they do, and they have a conversation, it will be the first time that the two have spoken, according to Brown, since the June 1 trade earlier this summer.

Their very close relationship led to a lot of success between Hurts and Brown in Philadelphia. The Eagles went to multiple Super Bowl appearances, including one win in 2024.

But last season, there was clear frustration from Brown about his role in the offense, and seemingly the relationship, which was once very strong between Brown and Hurts, fell apart.

There are still a lot of unknowns about their relationship and how it's changed over the last year or so, but one thing seems clear now after Browns' comments: Hurts and Brown have not spoken since the trade, and there isn't any urgency to do so either.
