Joey Bosa is still a free agent.
That has continued to create the obvious speculation that, eventually, the veteran pass rusher will sign with the San Francisco 49ers to team up with his brother Nick.
It may not be that simple. Joey seems to be taking his time.
Nick was asked about the situation on Thursday, and he had this blunt response:
"He's working on his golf game. I don't think he's thinking too much about football."

Joey, a free agent from the Buffalo Bills, is in that stage of his career where he doesn't have to rush to sign. There will likely be an opportunity for him when he wants it.
He's coming off a season in which he led the NFL with five forced fumbles and also had five sacks for Buffalo. It was his first season with any team aside from the Los Angeles Chargers. It makes sense that Joey wouldn't rush things now.
"Seems like Joey Bosa may be in Eric Kendricks mode right now — willing and able to wait out the best opening for him," 49ers beat writer David Lombardi wrote on X. "And if it doesn't come until games have passed, maybe that's even better. Kendricks showed up fresh and peaked at the right time for 49ers. Worth noting that Joey Bosa's best football came early season for Buffalo last year."
There isn't a 100% certainty that the 49ers would even want to sign Joey, but given the apparent need that still exists for them on the pass-rushing edge of their defense, it'd be a logical fit.
Ironically, Nick and Joey have both had injury woes, and having both Bosa brothers on the roster could make it a bit easier to limit their overall snaps in order to protect their health.
Nothing is happening yet, though, with Joey putting in work on the links and not in negotiations. It may be a while before anything comes fully to fruition here.
