- Thunder vs. Spurs series schedule
Arguably the most high-intensity series of the 2026 NBA Playoffs has reached do-or-die territory.
For the first time of the Western Conference Finals, one team will have its season on the line on Thursday night, with the Oklahoma City Thunder just a win away from reaching their second-straight NBA Finals, while the San Antonio Spurs need a win to force a Game 7 and keep their run alive.
While the Spurs have flustered a dominant Thunder squad more than any other opponent in both the regular season and postseason, Oklahoma City has remained steady enough, even with a Jalen Williams injury, to take a 3-2 series lead. After dropping Game 5, the Thunder bounced back with a 32-point night from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Tuesday, also getting more contributions from Jared McCain off the bench while Victor Wembanyama (20 points) was relatively quiet for the Spurs.
Now, in Game 6, the Thunder have the chance to solidify a Finals matchup against the Knicks by winning a game in San Antonio. But if the series so far has been any indication, winning consecutive games over the Spurs will be difficult, especially on the road. Wembanyama can help San Antonio force WCF Game 7 with one more stat-stuffing effort.
Will Oklahoma City reach its second-straight Finals, or will San Antonio force Game 7? The Sporting News is tracking live updates and highlights from Western Conference Finals Game 6. Follow along with the action below.
