The San Francisco 49ers, coming into the 2026 NFL Draft, have a few positions they could address with their first-round pick at No. 27 overall.

One of those positions they could target is wide receiver. Despite signing Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, and having Ricky Pearsall under contract, the 49ers could use another WR.

According to ESPN's Matt Miller, the 49ers have been "heavily connected" to wide receivers in this year's draft class, and Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion is a name to watch in Round 1 this year.

"Instead, they have been heavily connected to wide receivers by teams when running through mock draft exercises," Miller writes. "KC Concepcion (Texas A&M) is a name to watch."

With the 49ers seemingly showing interest in wide receiver options in Round 1, there are a few names that would be very appealing.

Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, or Jordyn Tyson would be great picks at this draft slot. But of those three WRs, none are likely to make it to the 49ers' pick.

Concepcion is different, as the Texas A&M receiver has been available for the 49ers with the 27th pick, often in many mock draft exercises from experts. He's even fallen into Round 2 as well, so the 49ers should have a chance at him.

Last season for the Aggies, Concepcion caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. He was a great receiving threat, and also has seen some work in the rushing game, scoring a touchdown and running for 75 yards on 10 attempts this season.

But another key part of his game is punt returning, as he returned two touchdowns this past year, and could be a quality pickup for the special teams unit, not just the WR room.

If the 49ers went into 2026 with a WR room of Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, KC Concepcion, and Christian Kirk, there wouldn't be many concerns about Brock Purdy's supporting cast.

Concepcion is someone to keep a close eye on for the 49ers' first-round pick, as he'd be a quality option to bolster the offense in San Francisco this offseason.
