49ers-Broncos predicted to make blockbuster draft trade to land new RB in Denver

The San Francisco 49ers have the 11th overall pick, but have many needs to address after an offseason full of losing players. They could make a trade to acquire more picks.

The 49ers lost Deebo Samuel. Talanoa Hufanga, Dre Greenlaw, Aaron Banks, Charvarius Ward and many other key players. The team has 11 picks in this draft, but could look to add even more to load up to move up the board later. FanSided's Cody Williams predicted this trade between the Denver Broncos and 49ers, where the Broncos would be moving up to select running back Omarion Hampton:

  • 49ers receive: 20th pick, 51st pick, 122nd pick and 2026 second-round pick
  • Broncos receive: 11th pick and 147th overall pick

"The Broncos take Hampton and put Bo Nix in an even better position entering year two with Sean Payton," wrote Williams. "The former Tar Heel has the elite ability to just keep churning out yards, make guys miss, and accelerate at the drop of a dime. He's going to be nasty behind this Denver offensive line."

Williams predicted the 49ers would select University of Texas corner Jahdae Barron.

"Moving back in a lucrative trade with the Broncos turns out quite profitable for the 49ers as they get to the 20th pick and take a player who might've been in consideration at No. 11, Texas CB Jahdae Barron," wrote Williams. "My favorite trait with Barron is his ability to be a chameleon schematically. He was asked to play both man and zone heavily in his career and thrived in both. He's a good athlete with fantastic instincts and footwork that should make him an upgrade to the San Francisco secondary."

The 49ers are not going to take Hampton with the 11th overall pick. He had over 2,000 scrimmage yards last season, but the 49ers have Christian McCaffrey and bigger needs. Barron fills a need in the secondary, and the trade would allow them to add an extra second-round pick.
